The unit is 1,366sqft & includes a front waiting room, 2 offices, storage room for learning materials, restroom & large classroom for the students. The current lease is month to month & assumable. The current owners have been proudly tutoring & deeply devoted to the children of Citrus County for over 25yrs, but the time has come when they would like to pass the torch. The owners would love to stay on for 3 months to help the transition go as smoothly as possible, w/ the least interruptions to their students. Two of their part-time employees, who are former students, would also love to stay to continue tutoring the children they have grown fond of. The sale will include all furniture, fixtures & equipment, including tables, chairs, books, curriculum materials, lesson plans, & teaching aids. The intangible assets are priceless & include the existing client base, contact information, lesson schedules, goodwill & the book of business. The franchise application, funding verification form & non-disclosure agreement will need to be completed before financial statements can be disclosed. The Kumon franchise has specific franchisee vetting requirements for purchasing the Kumon of Inverness location that must be met: (1) A bachelor’s degree or higher. If received outside of the US, it must be equivalent to a BA in the US. (2) US citizenship or permanent residency w/ green card (no visas or EADs). (3) Part-time commitment of 20 hrs per week, with two 4hr classes on separate days (currently Tues & Thurs, 2–6 pm). (4) Permission to hold another job as long as they are able to complete the record hours as approved by Kumon. (5) Financial ability to purchase the center at the agreed upon price, plus any add’l funds required by Kumon, the landlord, any legal fees etc. Liquidity requirements will be verified. (6) Proficiency in math & reading (two assessments are part of the recruitment process). There is also a very detailed & comprehensive training session that also must be completed before taking over the center & add’l training after the franchise takeover is completed. Kumon’s slogan “GIVE IT A TRY! OR YOU WILL NEVER DISCOVER YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL!” encourages students to take the first step, even if they feel uncertain, because progress often comes from trying something new & challenging. Ironically, seems like a fitting motto for the next franchisee of the Kumon Math & Reading Center of Inverness!
